Ideal food for keeping all koi in show quality condition, this high performance formula provides your fish with a perfect balance of both growth and color. Dainichi Premium can be used alone or in conjunction with other formulas such as GROWTH PLUS, ALL-SEASON or PRIMARY. Featuring five sources of protein, of which spirulina, krill, and shrimp
are also color enhancing, this formula is an all-time favorite with serious hobbyists and many top Japanese koi breeders and koi connoissuers. Dainichi's unique two-step application of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins C & E ensures that luster, sheen and whites of the koi are at their best.
Like all Dainichi foods, Dainichi Premium contains calcium montmorillonite clay to simulate the natural ingestion of mineral particles and to bind and neutralize metabolic toxins. Raw, fully potent vitamins, digestive enzymes and garlic ensure that the fish are healthy and free of internal parasites. Furthermore, the scouring action of the clay enhances continued rejuvenation of the digestive tract which ensures a maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients. With only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamin E and B), Dainichi Premium keeps the body conformation of all koi in a constant show-ready condition.

Dainichi Premium Usage

Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. All Dainichi foods have low levels of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract and to maintain a lean show-ready body conformation. There is no need for other spirulina-containing color food (like COLOR INTENSIFIER) to be used in conjunction with PREMIUM. Heavy feeding using both of these color formulas may result in the whites of the koi turning pink, requiring a switch to either PRIMARY, ALL-SEASON or GROWTH PLUS until the whites return back to their normal shade.

Floating Fountains for controlling algae and mosquitoes. The addition of one or more Kasco Marine Floating Fountain to a pond or lake can make the difference between a pond laden with algae and a breeding ground for mosquitoes to an eye catching waterscape and healthy environment for fish and decorative water plants. Algae will choke out decorative water plants robbing the water of oxygen as the dead algae decays and cause wide fluctuations of pH from night to day time. Oxygenating the water with a fountain will quickly break down decaying matter which algae thrives on and will help decorative water plants to flourish. Mosquitoes need still water surface for the eggs to develop. The fountain creates water movement that ripples across the entire waterbody and greatly reduces the mosquito population.

Floating Fountains Prevent Thermocline. Thermocline is a thin layer in a body of water that separates the warm surface water from the cooler more dense bottom layer. The bottom layer is oxygen poor where toxins and sludge builds up. Breaking up the thermocline allows toxins to escape into the air. Floating fountains break up the thermocline by pulling water from below.
